My best friend was more than just a best friend to me. Three words summed it up: I heart him. I’d never tell him though. I wasn’t stupid. Besides, what he’d told no one, but me, was a little something I wished I could forget… or ignore. He was gay. I guess gay wouldn’t be bad if I wasn’t so in love with him. Now it was just cruel.
Stereotypes run amok in this college love story: Parties, alcohol, hookups, and breakups. Alexandria Carmichael may find it a bit much as she deals with the unreturned love from the boy who completes her. When all is revealed, not only does she risk losing her best friend forever, but also herself. Without her childhood companion for support, Alexandria takes a journey of self-discovery but fears what she’ll find at the end.

Have you ever done something or been in a situation that if others found out, your life would change, and likely not for the better? Do you have secrets you guard closely because of what others will think? Are you a coward or just being smart for keeping the things which mean the most to yourself?
I would have loved for Seth to be loud and proud, but who are we kidding? Sometimes life isn't that easy. Sometimes we just do what we can to make it to the next day, you know?
But yes, I wanted him to stay. I wish things could have been different. Maybe next time around, right?
to think Seth got to that point.

All About Alex
1. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A veterinarian. My mother rarely let me have a pet, so I thought that was the way to play with all the animals I wanted. After my mother told me I had to work mostly with sick animals, I didn't find the idea as cool.
2. Who was your hero growing up?
I guess it's kinda obvious, right? Seth.
3. What was your most embarrassing moment?
I'd rather not say. Those are things I'd like to forget and hope others will too. :)
4. What was the happiest moment in your childhood?
The birthday I got my driver's license. I'm older than Seth, you know. :) By three months. I let him sit in the front like a big boy... most of the time.
5. What is one thing in your child/teenage years that you wish you could go back and change?
I wish I hadn't tried to turn my friendship with Seth into something else.
Harder Questions
6. What was your first reaction when you first realized you were in love with Seth?
Joy, fear, hope. If you've ever been in love, you know exactly what I mean. Then I had a moment of despair.
7. Why do you think is the real reason you stayed with Seth all of the time and never hung out with anyone else?
I didn't need anyone else... not when I had Seth. He's comfortable, you know? Like a favorite pair of jeans.
8.
Why do you think it was so hard to really give Dink a chance?
My first thoughts: because he's not Seth. But even if there was no Seth, Dink just wasn't my type.

Honestly what do you really think would have happened if Seth had loved you back the way you loved him?
I don't know. I want to believe we'd live happily ever after, but my heart says a little part of Seth would die each day. I love him. I'd never intentionally hurt Seth.
10.
Truthfully do you think Seth was a coward for not coming out and being proud? Do you think he was a coward for leaving when things got a little bad instead of staying and trying to figure things out.
No! For one, things were more than a little bad.
11.
What are your real thoughts on Seth's "suicide" attempts?
Shock. Confusion. I don't understand how life could ever get so bad to make suicide an option. I'm sorry, but I just can't relate. The concept is totally foreign. I don't even think I want to understand... to have had an experience that brought me so low that I'd think that was a choice. It hurts me right here
