Tune in Tuesday is hosted by Ginger of GReads so if you think idea was coo like I did head over and link up! It’s a way to bounce from blog to blog and discover what others are listening to!

In honor of my little sisters graduating high school yesterday, my tune this week is an old one that I’m sure people everywhere know the words to.

Vitamin C’s Graduation (Friends Forever)  A Classic Song.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read open to a random page share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. No spoilers (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

RETRIBUTION BY SHERRILYN KENYON

Mass Market Paperback: 448 pages
Dark Hunter Book 20 or 28 (It depends on how you count it.)
Paranormal Romance
Published by St. Martin’s Press
August 2, 2011

 From Goodreads:

A hired gunslinger, William Jessup Brady lived his life with one foot in the grave. He believed that every life had a price. Until the day when he finally found a reason to live. In one single act of brutal betrayal, he lost everything, including his life. Brought back by a Greek goddess to be one of her Dark-Hunters, he gave his immortal soul for vengeance and swore he’d spend eternity protecting the humans he’d once considered prey.

Orphaned as a toddler, Abigail Yager was taken in by a family of vampires and raised on one belief- Dark-Hunters are the evil who prey on both their people and mankind, and they must all be destroyed. While protecting her adoptive race, she has spent her life eliminating the Dark-Hunters and training for the day when she meets the man who killed her family: Jess Brady.

A gun in the hand is worth two in the holster...

Jess has been charged with finding and terminating the creature who’s assassinating Dark-Hunters. The last thing he expects to find is a human face behind the killings, but when that face bears a striking resemblance to the one who murdered him centuries ago, he knows something evil is going on. He also knows he’s not the one who killed her parents. But Abigail refuses to believe the truth and is determined to see him dead once and for all.

Brought together by an angry god and chased by ancient enemies out to kill them both, they must find a way to overcome their mutual hatred or watch as one of the darkest of powers rises and kills both the races they’ve sworn to protect.

Jim had this funny long-suffering look on his face, and then his eyes sparked. “So does she grill every
guy you bring home?”

I don’t bring guys home, you stupid, stupid man. “Ignore it. She’s just worried. I’m almost thirty and still unmarried. It’s a big deal in my culture.” Not that he would understand.

“I like it how wealthy trumped black.”

Demon Hunting in Dixie
Lexi George
Demon Hunter Book One
Paperback: 384 pages
Paranormal Romance
Published by BRAVA
ISBN: 978-0-75826-309-4
Release Date: May 1, 2011
Overall Rating: 4 Stars

Addy Corwin, attitude having, smart-mouth, florist is in for the shock of her life. One night is chasing after her dog when she gets attacked by some big beast and she would have died if wasn’t for the dangerously handsome man who came out of nowhere and saved her life. Bran is a warrior from another dimension and he’s come to Hannah, Alabama while tracking a demon and he will stay to protect Addy and the town. This is the kind of man of you take home to momma but too bad Addy thinks he crazy, but soon strange things start to happen and Addy has no choice but to believe Bran. And maybe having the sexy, warrior around when the crazy demons who want to take over comes to town, isn’t such a bad idea.

Wow what a debut.

I honestly don’t know where to start with this one, just thinking about this book has me remembering what happened and laughing out loud. Seriously this book was all kinds of funny. Addy was so much fun to read I loved that she always had something smart and witty to say to everyone. It seemed like everyone in the book was funny and sometimes without them even knowing or trying to be. It was hilarious when Bran was trying to figure things out.

Okay moving on. The plot was simple but in a good way. There wasn’t any overly complicated plot that you scratching your head and asking yourself “what the fudge is she talking about?” There was plot you could follow and enjoy. Addy and Bran were a great couple, I liked them together and apart, it was great to see the adjustments they had to make with their lives and themselves to be together. There was a good amount of sexual chemistry between the two though Addy thoughts on sex was actually lot dirtier than the sex itself, the sex was still dirty in a really good way. This is one of those books you will either love or hate there is definitely no in-between with this one. I will recommend this book to anyone who needs a book that isn’t too serious but still good and funny.

FINS ARE FOREVER BY TERA LYNN CHILDS

Hardcover: 272 pages
Fins Book 2
Young Adult
Published by Katherine Tegen Books
June 28, 2011

 From Tera’s site:

On Lily Sanderson’s eighteenth birthday she’ll become just a girl—still a mergirl, true, but signing the renunciation will ink Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia out of existence. That leaves plain old Lily living on land, dating the boy she loves, and trying to master this being-human thing once and for all.

Now that Lily and Quince are together, mer bond or not, she’s almost content to give up her place in the royal succession of Thalassinia. But just when she thinks she has everything figured out, the waves start to get rough. Lily’s father sends a certain whirlpool-stirring cousin to stay with her on land. What did Doe do to get herself exiled from Thalassinia and stuck in terraped form, when everyone knows how much she hates humans? And why why why is she batting her eyelashes at Lily’s former crush, Brody?

The seafoam on the raging surf comes when a merboy from Lily’s past shows up—Tellin asks Lily for something that clouds her view of the horizon. There’s a future with Quince on land, her loyalty to the kingdom in the sea, and Lily tossing on the waves in the middle. Will she find a way to reconcile her love, her duty, and her own dreams?

“I have to endure all those men in your little Hobbits group, so you can put up with the occasional hot nurse or two.” He picked up her good hand and ran his thumb across her skin. “But our love will see us through.”

“There are five men in the group, and half of them live with their mothers.”

He lifted one shoulder. “The jealousy still keeps me up at night.”
