When the girl of his dreams walks into his homeroom class one October morning, Max Fergus, a seventeen year old quarterback and star student, has his world turned upside down; everything he has ever thought about himself and his life is changed in that instant and nothing will ever be the same again, because once you know you aren’t human, there’s no going back, no pretending you are less than you are.
Anna Lissa Felidae, a pure blooded shifter has been searching for her soul mate, the one guy that was meant for her, and just when she is sure she is about to run out of time, Diana, goddess of the hunt, appears to her and sends her in the right direction. With another shifter on her trail, one who is determined to have her no matter what the cost, Anna has just three short weeks to convince Max he is a pure blooded shifter, among other things, and teach him to fight so they can be together. With the help of a few Fae friends, a motley crew of shifters and Max’s best friend Tony, they are sure to win.
It would seem that Max has everything going for him, quarterback, most popular guy in school, dating the head cheerleader but as we always know things are always what they seem. Then in comes Anna Lissa Felidae, the girl Max thinks has been following him around, he's seen her outside different places watching him, and everything he knew changes. Together they go on an adventure, a wild ride of mystery and danger.
Whoa. That was way better than I thought it would be. I thought it would some fluffy romance about two teenagers who could read minds. But it was really so much more, yes there was still a lot of fluffy romance, but it was more than that. There were all kinds of shifters, psychics, nasty deadly enemies, action, and there was even the fae. That last part was unexpected and really welcome.
I found myself really enjoying all of the character even Jenny because let's be honest all stories need a bitch, and she happened to the one in this story. Though I didn't like her in anyway, I could appreciate what her character brought to the story. I really liked Tony, who was the type of friend that I would want watching my back. But honestly I had so much respect for both Max and Anna but Max more so. You'll love Anna she was great and cheerful, you just can't help but want to be friends with her. Now Max, yum. Where do I find one? He was amazing and the way he handled everything that was thrown his way, it took a better person than me. He handled everything with so much grace and dignity, he was a strong character.
I recommend this book to anyone. I loved it and hope I see more of Max and Anna in the future.
