Jodi knows that any slip-ups made by the Ophi--a special group of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac--will fall on her shoulders... and that Hades is just waiting for them to screw up so he can wipe out the Ophi line.
Unfortunately, Jodi has only convinced one Ophi to join her school: A hot guy named Chase who jeopardizes her relationship with Alex. Jodi loves Alex, but Chase can enhance her powers with just a touch—making her stronger than any Ophi has ever been.
Her mixed emotions send her powers surging out of control, and the dead start rising without her conscious summoning—exactly what Hades doesn't want! If she chooses Alex over Chase, she may lose the battle to Hades, leading the Ophi race to extinction. If she chooses Chase, she might be able to stop Hades for good… but lose everything else.
Jodi needs to figure things out fast--because death is stalking her at every turn.

Book two picks up where the first one ending Jodi is now in charge of the Ophi school and doing her job and hoping to keep Hades from ending her isn’t as easy as one would think. The other Ophi seem to like things the way they are. No one wants to come to the school which makes Jodi’s job much harder, though there is one person who is willing to come and enter Chase.
So going into the book I was already by what I knew was coming, the curse of sequels, where the author throws in a new person and boom instant love triangle. Man I hate those. Though I will say this triangle was a bit different.
Things with Chase aren’t what they seem, Chase isn’t what he seems either. Strange things happen when they touch, Jodi’s powers and emotions are going haywire and she has no idea why. I really felt for Alex in this book, he was jealous and it was understandable though at times he seemed a bit childish.
The characters were good and really well written, it was nice to watch Jodi grow and handle things that must have been tough for someone her age. But I think she handled things well as a whole. The storyline was solid, the book was one that you don’t want to miss. It has a bit of everything, action, magic, likable characters, good scenes, lust, kisses, and romance (maybe a little too much though). With everything on the line for the characters you had no idea what was going to happen.
You get so hooked in the book that you have no idea you’ve reached the end until it smacks you in the face. All I can say is book three, Face of Death why aren’t you in my hand? This is one you won’t want to miss.
