TGIF is a fun little
feature hosted at by Ginger @ GReads! Every
week we re-cap what has happened on the blog plus Ginger asks a question for us
to answer. This week’s question is: Book to
Movie: Which book turn movie do you feel did the best adaptation? What about
the worst?
As always Ginger asked a very good
question. One that I’ve had to sit down and really think about.
This is a good one, one that had
me realizing that I’ve only read a few books turned to movies so I asked a few
friends this question. And we all pretty much came up with the same answers.
It seems we all agreed on the worst Twilight, ugh, I can’t stand that movie. They changed too much and to me it totally didn't live up to the books or the hype.
Eragon was next, the book and the movie were totally different. They made this into something different and took a lot of important thing out.
Next on the worst list I’m sad to say was Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I love love LOVE the books so I really wanted to see this movie and I was sadly disappointed. The movie itself wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. I was pissed off that they put this movie out and tried to tell me it was the book I’d read.

Moving on to the best.
Harry Potter. I have every book and every movie and I love them all. Even the little changes don’t bother me because they made an awesome movie, one that made me forgot about everything else but what I was watching.
Stardust, I have both the book and the movie and that is one movie I thought was a tiny bit better than the book.
The Help was a good one, I’ve seen the movie and it was amazing, so good. I haven’t read the book though but everyone who has said it was really.
And finally no list would be complete without the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I haven’t read the books but my friends say they were amazing and we all know the movies were Epic.

Just hopping on by. The LOTR films were amazing, I agree.
ReplyDeleteLOTR and Harry Potter, both the films and novels, are AMAZING. I loved them so, so much.
ReplyDeleteAnd we have the same worst adaptations - I didn't like Eragon or The Lightning Thief either.
The Lightning Thief was also my choice for worst movie adaptation. Seriously! They botched it so bad.
ReplyDeleteNew follower. Happy Friday!

I have to say one of the Harry Potter movies was on my worst list. But totally agree with you on Lord of the Rings - excellent movie.
