Psyche is the most beautiful girl in Greece, the “daughter” of the goddess Aphrodite and everything seem to going well for her until one day her mouth moves before her brain can take control. Things take a turn for the not so good, then when Psyche receives that prophecy that chills her bones, she has no idea what’s going to happen to her.
When Psyche receives a prophecy gone horribly wrong, she learns that even the most beautiful girl in Greece can have a hideous future. Her fate? Fall in love with the one creature even the gods fear.
As she feels herself slipping closer into the arms of the prophecy, Psyche must choose between the terrifyingly tender touch she feels almost powerless to resist and the one constant she's come to expect out of life: you cannot escape what is destined.

If a book even hints at Greek Mythology I have to read it and luckily for me when I picked up Destined I wasn’t disappointed. I will admit that it was a bit different from how I thought it would be but in a good way. It was sweet, cute, funny, sad, and had some adventure in it. It was set in ancient times but had a modern feel to it. It took an old tale and made it new and unique, the book was lovely and magical.

It was also really well written. Jessie Harrell told the story from both the point of view of Psyche and Eros, which I really liked. I loved the way she gave both characters a voice and even though one was a god she made him feel slightly human, they were someone readers could relate too. And I think when reading being able to relate to the characters and also go through a whole range of emotions are really important things.

It you like Greek mythology, loveable, relatable characters, feeling things, and a cute, well written love story than this is the book for you. And trust me this is not a book you want to miss out on and Ms. Harrell will be on your authors to look out for, I know she’s on mine.
