How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?
Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.
When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.
From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.

When I heard about books about angel, my brain thinks of it as a more religious and I tend to say away from those, and though there a great deal of religion it, it was also good. It was also just a heavy to read, this was no sweet and simple, quick, light read. I’ll admit in the beginning I was a little lost but that quick passed and I was able to really into the book. The story was really complex, and really there were two plots. I will say that I enjoyed the Liz and Danel parts a lot more than the Emily and Matt parts but that was only because I'm not religious at all, so reading  anything that has anything to do with religion isn't something I like to do.

The book was deeper than I thought it would have been, for some reason I was expecting some fluffy teenage love story that we're being force-feed to us nowadays, but it was so much more than that and I was truly grateful. The story was really well written and truly captivating. It was surprising in a good way and had me feeling a wide range of emotions. I will be on the lookout for the next book.

  1. Hey there! I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for taking on 'the angel/warrior' team. I really did want to make this book unique - not some "flirty teenage story" :) and I'm so glad you saw that and appreciated it. Matt and Emily will be more 'down to earthe' so to speak in Book II, and I really appreciate the fact that you took the shot and liked them!
