Ednah Walters
Guardian Legacy # 1
Young Adult, Paranormal Fiction
Paperback: 368 pages
Publisher: Firetrail Publishing
Release Date: July 12, 2011
Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Lil has come to terms with her life as a Guardian/demon hunter and the wielder of the Nephilim most powerful weapon. She trains everyday to master her growing powers, gets along with her Guardian trainee friends (most of the time) and cherishes her moments with her human friends.

Just when she feels she belongs, her nature-bender father contacts her and warns her about a betrayal by someone close to her. Then Bran, the guy she loves, starts to act strange and one of her human friends acquires a supernatural ability. While Lil struggles find a connection between these three things, she begins to realize that someone is manipulating her and Bran, and will stop at nothing (including hurting those she loves) to lure them to the dark side.

Lil, Bran, and the rest of the gang is back.

This book picks up where the last one left off, and though Lil thought things would go back to normal or as close to normal as possible things never happen the way we went them to. Lil never doubted the fact that she and Bran would be together forever at least until now. He’s distant, he’s put up a shield against Lil’s psi powers, and he goes away without saying a word. What could he do doing and what does that mean for the two of them.

There were so many subplots that made up this one big plot it was truly amazing. Every time I thought I had something figured out the book proved me wrong and honestly I loved that. Lil had all these things to figure out and with her father planting the seeds of doubt in her head she had a lot to deal with.

This book was great all around, I loved everything about it. The plot was flawless and strong, it flowed steadily and even the buildup was great. What I loved the most was the characters and how they developed. The characters old and new were great, they seemed so believable and many a times I found myself saying how I would do or say something a character did or said.

The book was fast paced, filled to the teeth with action and kept you guessing at every turn. Betrayed was a great book and has me waiting with bated breath for the book three. Ms. Walters does it again with another knock out book.
