Kate Daniels may have quit the Order of Merciful Aid, but she’s still knee-deep in paranormal problems. Or she would be if she could get someone to hire her. Starting her own business has been more challenging than she thought it would be—now that the Order is disparaging her good name, and many potential clients are afraid of getting on the bad side of the Beast Lord, who just happens to be Kate’s mate.

Turns out this is not an isolated incident, and Kate needs to get to the bottom of it—fast, or the city and everyone dear to her might pay the ultimate price . . .

Breath of Angel Review

Breath of Angel

Karyn Hanley
Reading level: Young Adult
Publisher by WaterBrook Press
ISBN: 978-0-30773-012-1
June 21 2011
Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

The story is about a sixteen-year-old priestess named Melaia, who loves her life as the one day High Priestess of the temple.  But one day she witnesses a murder in the temple courtyard and find that the victim is an angel, and his murderer is a man who can shift between the form of human and a hawk. Soon after Melaia is sucked into a war between angels, two immortal brothers one of whom is the murder of the angel and the man who stole immortality and destroyed the Wisdom Tree and the stairway to heaven. He soon learns that the two brothers if not stopped will destroy the rest of the world with their fighting. In this journey Melaia’s beliefs are put to the test and proved wrong, she finds there are angels, immortals, and other beings only thought of in stories. Melaia soon discovers things about herself that she’s never known and things about life and the world that she never thought possibly.

I’ll admit that I was intrigued from the very beginning. It was a really good book and an even better start to a series. The world was different from one that I’ve read before, Ms. Hanley created another world and made it her own instead of simply writing in the past. The angels in here were different than the kinds of angels I’m used to in other stories and I appreciate that, I love to see how different author takes things and put their own spin on it. There was even a little romance in the book, there could have been more but there will be another book so who knows what we’ll see in the future. All in all it was a good book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to sit back and enjoy good books.

Last Minion Standing Review & eBook Giveaway (Now Closed)

  Last Minion Standing
  Eve Langlais
  Paranormal Romance
  Published by Liquid Silver Books
  ISBN: 978-1-59578-797-2

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Who will be the Last Minion Standing?

All I said was I needed a minion, the next thing I know, I'm embroiled in a reality show with cameras following me everywhere. I should have told them not to bother, as I was ready to declare a winner—and get naked—the moment I met Drake. Shirtless and shoeless, in low slung jeans, I could think of so many ways he could serve me—especially in bed.

But, Drake, the super sexy dragon shifter, is after more than a chance to work alongside me in my battle to capture evil souls, he also wants to win my heart. But love is for weaklings, and no matter how much he tortures me sexually, I will not give in, even when he resorts to restraints and sensual flogging. Mmm, bring it on—harder please.

I gave this book 5/5 stars

I won’t lie this isn’t the first book that I’ve read by Ms. Langlais so I had high hopes for this book so I can tell you that I wasn’t disappointed. If anything this was my favorite of the books that I’ve read by Ms. Langlais. I’m in love.

This story had everything you could want in a great story, romance, magic, sexy alpha males, a kick ass heroine, steamy sex, and just the right touch of mystery. Right from the start Sally and Drake had this thing about them that was hot and it made me want to read on. Last Minion Standing is the perfect example of good things coming in small packages or in this case, short stories. Ms. Langlais proves that your story doesn’t need to be over one hundred pages to pack a real punch.

This story was amazing. I read the whole thing in one sit through and I found myself upset that it was over. I wished it could have gone on forever but like every good story it had to end. I was hooked from the beginning to the end, from the first sentence until the last word. Honestly the only thing you really need to know about this story is that you don’t want to miss it.

My hat goes off to Ms. Langlais, and if she keeps writing like this I will read anything she puts out.

Tune In/Teaser Tuesday (2)

Tune in Tuesday is hosted by Ginger @GReads so if you think idea was coo like I did head over and link up! Its a  way to bounce from blog to blog and discover what others are listening to!

This Tuesday I will talking about one of my favorite songs. I listen to this song more than three times a day, sometimes on repeat. I've been listening to it since I first heard a few lines of it in a commercial. Carrie Underwood co-wrote and preformed this song, and round of applause to her. Carrie is amazing by the way (huge country fan).

My song this week is Carrie Underwood's 'There's A Place For Us' from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader soundtrack. (Loved the movie too).

From Kelley's Site

Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can’t find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students–for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.

Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya’s determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya’s home, and they won’t go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts experiencing “bad vibes” about certain people and things. It does’t help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret…and he’s interested in one special part of Maya’s anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.

This is my first attempt at this so here it goes. Usually when I get a new song and when I say new I mean new to my iPod (it can be an old song or a new one) I pretty much listen to on repeat for a long time. This song however is not new to me or my iPod but I only just begun really listening to it.
