I must say that I find television very educational. The minute somebody turns it on, I go to the library and read a book. --Groucho Marx

T.G.I.F (34)

TGIF is a fun little feature hosted by Ginger @ GReads! Every week we re-cap what has happened on the blog plus Ginger asks a question for us to answer. This week’ question is: Literary Vacations: If you could take a trip this summer to any place within a fictional book, where would you go? Tell us about your summer dream vacation!

As always Ginger asked a very good question.

This was a really hard question to answer, I had to sit and really look at my books. And after some serious consideration I can tell you that I would love to take a vacation and visit Camp Half-Blood from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. If you read the series, you can totally understand why I would say that, it also might have something to do with my tiny (huge) book crush on Percy when I first started reading the books.

My summer dream vacation. I would love to travel, visit all of the amazing places I’ve seen on television and read in books. I’ve always wanted to visit Greece. Greek mythology has always been a favorite of mine, so seeing the Parthenon would be a dream come true. Hang out on the beach, reading a fabulous book, while Italian men walk by and buy me drinks and feed me grapes. There are also two guys with giant leaf fan standing on each side of me.

That would only be for half of the summer, the other half I would spend hanging out with my friends and family. Reading as many books as I can. Going to amusement parks and going on road trips to nowhere. Just having fun.

  2. When I was in High School my Latin class took a trip to Italy, which I know isn't Greece, but still so cool! I really wish I had been with them, but nope. I was sick. >_< Arggh!

  4. During our history classes about Greece my mind is absent and I'm imagining myself touring in Greece. I kinda like their ancient infrastructures, the Parthenon specifically. Besides, I always like to see ancient-built. Happy vacation!

  6. I've never heard of Campy Half-Blood, but I'll have to check it out! I too love Greek mythology and am dying to visit Greece. I once had the opportunity to go in high school (I was into musical theater and our company performed/studied abroad) I am still kicking myself for missing the opportunity.
