Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, is a school where people are known and judged by who their parents are. Which totally sucks for Elise because not only did her parents send her to a new school, her father is a teacher there and her mother is the new principle. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but when you go to school with people Derek Edwards who is the son of Hollywood’s “It Couple”, anyone would find their parents seriously lacking.
When Elise’s sister Juliana starts hanging out with Derek’s best friend Chase, Elise starts seeing a lot more of Derek than she wants to, in turn making her the envy of all of the other girls in school. Elise could care less about Derek Edwards and who his parents are. But when a misunderstanding breaks up Chase and Juliana, it’s up to Elise and Derek to work together to help the couple get back together.

On the first day of school and Elise meets two hot but very different guys. The first one is none other Mr. Cool himself Derek Edwards. Though Derek is ridiculously handsome and his parents are famous and everyone wants him for one reason or another, Elise thinks he’s kind of a jerk. Thankfully he isn’t the only guy in the whole school, guy number two is the ever charming school outcast Webster Grant. He’s handsome, smart, and has a great sense of humor, he always makes Elise laugh. But he just so happens to be the enemy of Derek.

But people aren’t always what they appear to be on the outside. Elise has a lot on her plate her parents, friends, enemies, frienemies, boys, and her three sisters. Soon Elise learns there are three sides to every story person A, person B, and the truth. Elise also learns that there is more to Derek Edward than meets the eye. Like the fact that the only thing Derek wants in life is to be left alone, and to have the every girl stop throwing themselves at him and let him breathe.

I knew I had to get my hands on this book, something about it just called to me. So when I opened my mail and I found the book inside a package I stopped everything and started to read. It only took me two hours to finished and my final thought is I loved LOVED this book. I shouldn’t say anymore I should just let this one speak for itself. Seriously I loved everything about this book. The writing style, the plot, the characters even the one I really wanted to slap the taste out of their mouths.

Elise, this was the type of girl I could really be friends with. She was smart, had a good personality , she was funny, loyal, and she always had a comeback.  When someone snapped at her, she always gave as good as she got.

The relationship between Elise and Derek was what I really loved the most. Almost every book is about a couple who fell in love after one look and this was not of those books. Thanks the powers that be. Sure when Elsie saw Derek she thought he was handsome but the relationship didn’t take off from there. Like in real life they grow on each other, they fought and at times they weren’t even speaking. And it made it all seem real to me.

Ms. LaZebnik, is now on my auto-buy list. When she comes out with another book I will buy it, whatever it may be about. I recommend this book to everyone, I don't care what you read, you'll love this.
